The city of Herford intends to construct a new single-court sports hall on the grounds of the Stiftberg Primary School in Herford. The two-story building will house a sports field and associated ancillary rooms such as equipment storage, changing rooms, restrooms, access areas, and technical rooms. Due to the sloping terrain and the school's very limited outdoor space, the building will be largely built into the hillside. The sports hall's flat roof will be accessible via two external staircases and a connection to the building's elevator, providing barrier-free access and additional open space and play area. The ventilation system will be housed in other areas on the roof, and a photovoltaic system will be installed on a pergola. The new building will be constructed using conventional solid construction methods, with two to three stories and a flat roof. The basement (fully embedded in the hillside) will contain the sports hall, equipment and storage rooms, restrooms, a technical and utility room, and an external fire escape. The ground floor (partially at schoolyard level) will include the main entrance with foyer, the sports hall's open space, changing rooms, and a storage room. Top floor (accessible via two external staircases and an elevator): Outdoor areas/play and recreation areas, technical rooms, pergola with photovoltaic system. Key figures (from building application/without guarantee): Gross floor area (GFA) approx. 2,017 m², Gross volume (GV) approx. 8,267 m³. The planned new building will be fully accessible. This includes the passenger elevator serving all levels.
