The new LVR building at Ottoplatz 2, 50679 Cologne, comprises two basement levels with a gross floor area (GFA) of approximately 11,000 m², a five- or six-story base structure (envelope structure), and a 17-story tower (high-rise) with a GFA of 38,000 m² above ground. The contractor is responsible for constructing the entire building envelope of the project. The building envelope essentially consists of the following components: 1. Main Facade: The main facade, with a total area of 16,500 m², is designed as a window facade with standard element dimensions of W x H = 1.35 x 3.65 m and serves as a watertight and windproof building envelope, clad externally with a suspended ceramic pilaster/cornice construction. On the ground floor and first floor, the element height is 4.45 m; in some areas, the facade grid is 1.40 m. They are designed as independent cladding elements in front of the window construction as separate components. The cornices are constructed with a powder-coated aluminum tray and covered with a longitudinal bar grate. Drainage of the cornices is achieved via a DN 70 downpipe integrated into the vertical pilasters, connected to the sewer system. The total area of the main facade is divided as follows: - Main facade, north = approx. 3,300 m², consisting of approx. 606 facade elements - Main facade, east = approx. 4,100 m², consisting of approx. 748 facade elements - Main facade, south = approx. 3,400 m², consisting of approx. 630 facade elements - Main facade, west = 4,250 m², consisting of approx. 798 facade elements - Courtyard facade = 1,450 m², consisting of approx. 260 facade elements 2. Atrium facade, north outer shell The atrium facade, with a total area of 1,900 m² and a height of 23.50 m, is constructed as a self-supporting,...
