In the southern part of Halle, in the Halle-Ammendorf district, improper handling of operating materials during long-term industrial use and an accident in 1990 have resulted in damage to the soil and groundwater. Contamination of the soil and groundwater with volatile halogenated hydrocarbons (VHCs) has been detected in the affected area. To prevent harmful effects on previously uncontaminated, usable, or utilized groundwater resources further downstream of the industrial area, hydraulic remediation using the pump and treat method has been underway in the area bounded by Camillo-Irmscher-Straße, Chemiestraße, and Eisenbahnstraße since 2007. The operation of the groundwater treatment plant is to be continued through the construction and maintenance of all plant components. The treatment plant's performance is to be monitored and ensured through appropriate measures to prevent iron oxide buildup, siltation, and incrustation in the pumps and all plant equipment, and is to be supported by a corresponding emergency and incident management plan. The progress of the groundwater remediation and the operation and maintenance of the plant must be continuously documented. The current contractual relationship for the groundwater treatment plant owned by MDSE ends on December 31, 2024. The subject of this inquiry is therefore the following services: - Construction of a new groundwater treatment plant - Operation of the groundwater treatment plant/remediation wells according to the client's specifications - Maintenance - Occupational safety measures - Analytical self-monitoring of the groundwater treatment plant - Regeneration of remediation wells - Construction and operation of an infiltration well
