Tierpark Berlin-Friedrichsfelde GmbH, Am Tierpark 125, 10319 Berlin, intends to carry out project T092 DHH – Conversion of the Pachyderm House – on the zoo grounds. This involves the demolition and redesign of the existing central interior of the pachyderm house. A zookeeper area, an indoor enclosure, and a visitor area are planned. The existing outer ring with the four corner buildings, constructed of reinforced concrete, will be retained. As part of the conversion, all exterior facades of the existing building and the surrounding outdoor areas will be redesigned. The existing building will be completely gutted during construction, and the entire interior, including the roof and supporting structures between cores 1-4 and the surrounding connecting corridors, will be demolished. The internal fixtures, floor structures, and foundations in these areas will also be demolished. Total floor area of new buildings, conversions, and extensions: 6,999 m²
