The service to be provided includes the application of the biocide Foray ES (3 l/ha in 35-50 l water) to approximately 600 hectares of oak stands, consisting of individual trees, linear stands, and patches, using helicopters. A high-performance helicopter comparable to the Eurocopter Airbus AS 350 model must be used and equipped with special, permanently mounted application technology (e.g., Simplex spraying system) and drift-reducing injector nozzles 110_05. The minimum working width is approximately 30 m. The areas to be treated include hedgerows, avenues, park areas, and forest areas and edges. The procurement of Foray ES for the infested areas is also part of this tender. Due to the population development of the oak processionary moth, individual areas may be added or removed. The service involves the control of free-feeding oak processionary moth caterpillars on trees in the Prignitz district using the biocide Foray ES (in accordance with its current authorization) and spray cannons within the Prignitz district, including the procurement of the Foray ES product. These control measures are carried out to protect human health and are therefore subject to biocidal product regulations. Foray ES, containing the active ingredient Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. Kurstaki, is currently authorized for use in biocidal products for the aerial control of the oak processionary moth. Infested oak trees (individual trees and groups of trees) must be treated properly and professionally from the ground using suitable equipment. All sprayers used must be capable of reaching working heights of up to 35 meters. The entire tree crown must be sprayed thoroughly.
