The client is Gesundheitszentrum Bitterfeld/Wolfen gGmbH, a modern medical center of excellence with the status of a designated hospital under Section 108 of Book Five of the German Social Code (SGB V) of supraregional importance and an academic teaching hospital of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. Nine clinical departments with 382 beds and 30 day-clinic places are available for patient care. Approximately 16,000 inpatients and 25,000 outpatients are treated annually. The health center also includes two day-clinics with 30 places, a nursing home for the elderly, and a medical care center. The intended award of the pharmacy services contract is exclusively for the supply of pharmaceuticals, including ready-to-use cytostatic preparations and pharmacy-only medical devices, to inpatient areas (excluding the senior care home) and functional areas, as well as the provision of all related services and consulting based on applicable laws, in particular Section 14, paragraphs 4 and 5 of the German Pharmacy Act (ApoG), regulations, professional rules, and official decrees. Currently, pharmacy services are provided by an external pharmacy. The pharmacy services are to continue to be awarded in their entirety to an external pharmacy (bidder). To this end, a hospital supply contract pursuant to Section 14, paragraphs 4 and 5 of the ApoG, based on defined scopes of services, is to be concluded with the pharmacy. Further details are set out in the hospital supply contract, which forms part of the tender documents.
