Germany – Road construction works – Straßen- und Gleisbauarbeiten auf der Hachestraße in Essen, Projekt Citybahn, VE 3.2

The overall "Citybahn" project consists of three planning sections: the Station Tangent (BHT), the Berthold-Beitz-Boulevard 3rd Construction Phase (BBB-3), and Essen 51. The Station Tangent section runs from the new Schwanenkampbrücke stop on Hachestraße in the west to the new Betriebshof Stadtmitte stop on Goldschmidtstraße in the northeast. Contract unit 3.2, Road and Track Construction Works Hachestraße, is the second construction phase of the Station Tangent and extends between Am Hauptbahnhof and the B224 Hans-Böckler-Straße, covering a new section of approximately 600 meters. In conjunction with the new track construction, the road cross-section will be redesigned, and the Hindenburgstraße stop will be rebuilt to be fully accessible. The tender is being issued jointly by Ruhrbahn GmbH and the City of Essen. The entire tender for procurement unit VE 3.2 is divided into the overarching sections of tramway operating facilities and road traffic facilities, with the tramway operating facilities (cost bearer Ruhrbahn) consisting of only one section, 01. The road traffic facilities (cost bearer City of Essen – ASV), on the other hand, comprise several sections, 02 to 06, as follows: 02 - Road construction, 03 - Lighting, 04 - Traffic signal systems, 05 - Marking work, 06 - Signage.
