The Nautical Control Center, as the maritime police authority, is responsible for ensuring the safety and smooth flow of shipping traffic in the Port of Hamburg. To guarantee this, nautical officers are supported by a video wall with KVM technology, displaying a comprehensive overview of the Port of Hamburg. The technical components of this video wall and KVM technology are to be replaced with state-of-the-art equipment. The Nautical Control Center is part of the critical infrastructure of the Port of Hamburg. All personnel involved in the modernization and maintenance of the new video wall must meet KRITIS standards. Setup and installation must be completed on-site within one week. A large number of dedicated image sources will be displayed in high resolution on the video wall (approximately 2 m x 7 m). Apart from large screens and specialized control elements at individual nautical workstations, the number of additional IT devices will be kept to a minimum. Required computers and servers will be housed remotely in a secure technical area. Relevant components will be connected using IP-based KVM technology and fiber optic transmission lines. Key components such as KVM controllers must be designed with redundancy. Furthermore, the KVM technology must enable the centralized management of user profiles, user groups, roles, and access rights, allowing employees to log in from any workstation and access resources according to their permissions. During the project, two tests will be conducted using a predefined berth management software on the supplier's system at their premises/showroom.
