The software Tungsten Capture and VirtualRescan (manufacturer: Tungsten Automation) has been used at an enterprise level in the Hessian state administration since 2005 in ongoing central production operations as part of a client-server solution (within the state intranet). Its purpose is to transfer scanned documents from Hessian government agencies primarily to the target system DMS (HeDok or DMS 4.0), as well as to SAP and Microsoft Shares. The scanned documents are converted to PDF/A for the Hessian state DMS. Electronic documents such as Word files, emails with attachments/signatures, or ZIP files are also converted to PDF/A for long-term archiving. The clients are located at the state's offices and are required for scan creation and forwarding to the Hessian Data Center (HZD). The productive server operation and further processing of the batches are handled centrally at the HZD. The conversion for long-term archiving can be centrally configured for each process (e.g., different target formats). In parallel, a central environment is already being operated at the HZD (Helmholtz Centre for Digital Documentation) using the acquired product Tungsten TotalAgility. This environment serves as the basis for a scanning service for DMS (Document Management System) and other specialized applications, as well as a web-based conversion service. For the ongoing system transition of the DMS scanning service, the existing Tungsten TotalAgility environment will be rebuilt with enhanced (security) requirements and transferred to permanent central operation. All existing productive services of the Tungsten Capture system will subsequently be replaced. The following services are the subject of this tender: 1. Software maintenance: The scope of the existing, perpetually granted licenses for Tungsten Capture, VRS (Variable Resource Recovery System), and the license pool for Tungsten TotalAgility and PowerPDF is detailed in Chapter 4 of the service description. 2. New License...
