Germany – Urban planning and landscape architectural services – Planungswettbewerb -Zukunft Bergische Kaserne in Düsseldorf-

The subject of this competition is the development of an urban planning concept with integrated landscape design for the approximately 27-hectare planning area on the grounds of the Bergische Kaserne barracks in Düsseldorf. The aim of the first phase of the competition is to develop an urban and landscape planning outline that includes provisions for the building and land use structure, access, and open space for the planning area. In the second phase, the selected concepts will be further developed. If the project is implemented, the City of Düsseldorf, in accordance with Section 8 (2) of the RPW (Guidelines for Planning Competitions), will commission one of the prize winners, usually the winner(s), with the further planning services, taking into account the recommendations of the jury, provided there is no compelling reason against further commissioning and insofar as and when the task underlying the urban planning and landscape design competition is to be further specified. The winning design will serve as the basis for the future development plan for the planning area. No further commissioning of urban development planning services is anticipated. The commissioning of the following services is subject to approval and funding and may, if necessary, be carried out in stages/at different times. Urban planning services: Further development of the competition results into an urban design based on AHO No. 42 "Special Services for Area Planning" - Urban Design (service phases 1-3, high requirements), HOAI 2021 as a preliminary stage to the legal plan. Open space: Further quality assurance in the form of a green space plan in accordance with Section 29 HOAI 2013, service phases 1 to 4 (fee zone III). The contract will be awarded by the City of Düsseldorf in a subsequent negotiated procedure (Section 14 (4) 8. VgV).
