In this tender, AquaDjurs A/S wishes to obtain offers for technical and process-related advice in connection with the expansion, commissioning and daily operation of Fornæs Wastewater Treatment Plant. In 2022, the client initiated a phased conversion and expansion of Fornæs Wastewater Treatment Plant, which will be implemented in line with the need, referring to the Background Note in tender appendix E. Phase I, which includes an expansion of the sludge treatment facelifts and a change of the plant from a one-stage to a two-stage plant, is being completed with commissioning over the first half of 2025. In connection with this, the design capacity of the treatment plant has been expanded from 62,000 person equivalents (PE) to 88,000 PE. A new discharge permit corresponding to a capacity of 120,000 PE was granted in November 2024. Due to a large industrial connection, an increased sludge load and a company merger with the resulting wastewater centralization, the project has developed since its launch in 2022 with the resulting requirements for future EU tenders, etc. The upcoming phase II includes an expansion of the treatment plant's capacity to 160,000 PE via the establishment of two additional process tanks with a volume of 2 x 8,400 m3. The tanks will be established in line with the capacity requirement, with the first process tank being established in 2025/26 and the second in 2028. A construction project for the process tanks has been prepared, which the Client, in dialogue with the selected consultant, plans to tender in an EU tender in the spring of 2025, with process tank 2 as an option. In continuation of this, the mechanical and electrical contracts will be designed and tendered. In the long term, the development plan also includes plans for a hydraulic expansion of the mechanical pre-treatment, a changed sludge handling and the implementation of the 4th treatment stage.
