The subject of the competition is the building of the interpretation center, the interpretation display, the surroundings of the Interpretation Center and the parking lot at the Vindija Cave on cadastral plot no. 5353/1, 5354, 5342, 5922 and 5923, all cadastral plot No. Donja Voća. The intention of the Varaždin County is to build a new representative building of the interpretation center in accordance with the values of the Vindija Cave. The Varaždin County, as the client of the project, wants to realize the Vindija Cave Interpretation Center through a public architectural-urban planning-design competition in order to ensure the best solution for this complex space. The client's intention is to present the cultural, historical, natural and scientific heritage of the Vindija Cave at the highest possible level in order to convey information about the cave and the Neanderthal who lived there in the Stone Age to a wide audience and visitors from the region and the world. The aim of the competition is to select the best urban planning-architectural-design solution for the Vindija Cave Interpretation Center, among several different proposals.
