Ireland – Road construction works – N59 Derradda to Newport Road Project – Main Construction Contract

Realignment of the existing N59 National Secondary Route in Newport Town and between Newport and Mulranny comprising the construction of approximately 5.1km of Type 3 single carriageway road. The scheme comprises mainly on-line widening with some sections of off-line construction, with sections of the existing Great Western Greenway incorporated into the carriageway cross section at various locations and some offline realignment of the greenway itself. Works include: • Improvement and realignment of existing side road junctions; • Construction of a new bridge; • Widening and improvement of existing bridges; • Construction and reconfiguration of culvert crossings; • Site Clearance; • Earthworks; • Road drainage works including the provision of drainage outfalls; • Various landscaping, environmental and mitigation works; • Various accommodation works including access to properties and lands; • Various fencing and safety barrier systems; • Various roadmarking and signing; • Various works including diversion of assets of utilities and service providers; • New pavement construction and some pavement overlay; • Public realm works; • Other ancillary works.
