Internal and external developments prompted a reassessment of the KVK Strategic Accommodation Plan (SHP). For instance, an Agile transition process has taken place within the KVK, and COVID-19 has resulted in accelerated growth of hybrid work applications. In addition to the ongoing digitalization of services and products, it was also decided to maintain an appropriate presence in the regions for physical customer contact. These and other developments necessitate a re-examination of the layout and size of existing office locations, as well as a search for more suitable locations where necessary. With this process in mind, a KVK Interior Style Guide (ISHB) was recently developed. This was done not only to promote the KVK brand proposition in terms of tone and style, but also to better meet the changing requirements and wishes of the KVK. The KVK currently has no agreement for the aforementioned services. Until 2022, the KVK accommodation strategy focused on scaling down the number of offices from 20 to 6 branches. In recent years, the procurement of interior construction was tendered separately per accommodation project and for minor modifications. The interior design of the majority of the locations is currently dated and sometimes still bears the signature of the ‘old’ regionally organized Chambers of Commerce. Current situation In the current situation, the Chamber of Commerce is established at 17 locations in the Netherlands. All locations involve a rented (part of a) building. Often, the building is a former Chamber of Commerce location from the period when the Chamber of Commerce still consisted of various regional organizations. The new Strategic Housing Plan (SHP) has been adopted, including a – provisional – impact analysis per location.
