Netherlands – IT services: consulting, software development, Internet and support – Hosting, beheer en doorontwikkeling platform Openresearch

Within the framework of this Tender, the Municipality intends to commission the hosting, management, and further development of the Open Research platform. Openresearch.amsterdam is the digital knowledge platform of the Municipality of Amsterdam and over 35 formal knowledge partners in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, including the University of Amsterdam, the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, the Vrije Universiteit, Waternet, and the Province of North Holland. The platform was developed to support collaboration between government, knowledge institutions, and civil society organizations in addressing complex urban challenges such as sustainability, housing, health, mobility, and social inequality. The platform functions as a digital network in which users – such as civil servants, researchers, lecturers, students, and civil society professionals – can unlock, consolidate, and contextualize knowledge. It contains thousands of pages of policy documents, research reports, work agendas, lectures, maps, visualizations, and thematic dossiers. This knowledge is presented in an accessible and structured manner using semantic technology and linked data. The assignment in this tender encompasses the hosting, technical management, and further development of this public platform. This concerns the hosting, management, and further development of open-source software. The key development points stem from user research among civil servants and knowledge partners, and aim to make the platform even more accessible, user-friendly, and efficient. Examples include improving the search function, expanding network functionality, and integrating automatic connections with other public data sources.
