The Assignment consists of providing the service of cooling bridges. Due to expansion during hot weather, Amsterdam's movable bridges sometimes do not function properly. It occurs that the bridges do not open or close properly. To prevent this, bridges must be cooled on hot days. The Municipality of Amsterdam wants to optimize availability for both road and shipping traffic under a bridge. Movable bridges are cooled with water when weather conditions warrant it. This requires manpower. Cooling is carried out using pumps provided by the municipality. The water for cooling comes from the water flowing under the bridges in question. A fixed team of two people per bridge, as much as possible, must be provided, along with a coordinator to manage everything. Work will be carried out in 2 shifts per day that cooling is required. The scope of the agreement is the cooling of nine (9) movable bridges within Amsterdam and one (1) in Weesp. This number may increase or decrease in the future. At higher temperatures, it may be necessary to cool additional bridges.
