Opportunity Overview
The commission stems from the New Roots Project, part of the Interreg Deutschland-Nederland cooperation. The New Roots Project addresses the current disconnect between humans and nature by allowing this connection to take root again from various societal directions (education, art, and entrepreneurship) within North Dutch and North German cultures. The goal of the project is to increase nature connectedness (hereinafter: NC). We view NC as the foundation of eco-positive behavior and well-being; promoting NC creates a more future-proof society, in which biodiversity and livability in the border region improve.
