Opportunity Overview

The contracting authority intends to conclude an agreement for the supply of nine (nine) fire engines within the context of the present tender. Within the Joint Fire Service (GB), the oldest fire engines (TSs) have been in use since 2010. A total of two TSs were built in this configuration; in 2012, two equivalent TSs were built equipped with a more modern control system (ZMS). Since then, major developments have taken place in control technology, efficiency, safety, and the user interface. These developments can benefit the users and the maintenance party. Operating a TS as it was 12 years ago is therefore unthinkable and would be an unwise decision. This is the reason for initiating a tender process to examine the requirements and possibilities regarding fire engines. Changes in vehicle and control technology affect the operation and handling of the fire engine and the control and management of various components. All these developments are included in the Statement of Requirements (PvE) to generate new insights and ensure maximum preparation for developments in firefighting technology and tactics, as well as potential changes in incident management related to the energy transition. Compared to the fire engines currently in use by the GB, greater attention is being paid to ergonomics and the safety of and for the user. The PvE has been drawn up based on the RAMS (Responsible, Recyclable, and Stability Management) philosophy. The goal is to make the fire engines more maintenance-friendly and less prone to breakdowns by applying sustainable, wear-resistant materials, process monitoring, and control technology. Furthermore, the GB aims to achieve shorter out-of-service times for periodic maintenance through this approach.
