Opportunity Overview

On behalf of the Ministry of Education and Research, the Directorate of Education is now conducting a review of the distribution of subjects and hours in sixth form education. The review is anchored in the "Meld. St. 21 (2020-2021) Completion Reform - With open doors to the world and the future, it includes the study preparatory education programs and the common subjects on vocational education programs. The national distribution of subjects and hours has the status of a regulation and contains provisions on what subjects the pupils shall have in the different education programs and the number of hours per subject. There have not been comprehensive changes in the trade and hour distribution for sixth form education since the introduction of the Curriculum for the Knowledge Lift in 2006 (LK06/LK06 Sami). The objective of the research assignment is to obtain knowledge that the Norwegian Directorate of Education and Research shall use for reviewing and developing a new framework for content and structure. Information shall be obtained from pupils, students, schools and school owners, the university and university college sector and working life on what challenges the current structure and content in sixth form college cannot solve. The knowledge base shall highlight future needs that should be covered by sixth form education and lay the basis for further review of measures. The assignment shall be carried out in the period 2024-2027 and it has a total cost limit of up to NOK 12 million excluding VAT. A comprehensive description of the delivery is given in the tender documents. The Norwegian Directorate of Education and Training reserves the right to political decisions that can lead to changes in the scope of the assignment. The digital information meeting will be held 20 March 2024, 12:00.
