Transport Resilience and Connectivity Enhancement Project (Jezkazgan-Karagandy Section of TCITR (Middle Corridor))

The development objective of Transport Resilience and Connectivity Enhancement Project is to strengthen the resilience of transport systems in Kazakhstan and improve climate-adapted road connectivity along the Jezkazgan - Karagandy section of the Middle Corridor. This project has three components. 1) The first component, Resilient and Safe Road Connectivity, has the following sub-components: (i) Corridor Connectivity; (ii) Last Mile Connectivity; (iii) Road Sustainability; and (iv) Safety Audit. 2) The second component, Transport Systems Development, has the following sub-components: (i) Framework for Transport Resilience, Decarbonization, and Safer Roads; and (ii) Multimodal Middle Corridor Development. 3) The third component, Project Management, will support Project implementation by establishing and operating a Project Implementation Unit (PIU) within KAZh and utilizing specialist consulting services.
