Tuvalu Learning Project

The development objective of Learning Project for Tuvalu is to improve the readiness of children entering first grade and improve the reading skills of students. This project has four components. 1) The first component, : Strengthening early childhood care and education (ECCE) and school readiness for all children, has the following sub-components: (i) Strengthening the delivery of ECCE services; and (ii) Conduct public awareness program and community outreach. 2) The second component, Improving literacy outcomes in all schools, has the following sub-components: (i) Implementation of the Tuvalu Reading Program (TRP); and (ii) Strengthening literacy in all schools through teaching and learning innovations and enrichment activities. 3) The third component, Research, learning assessment and policy review, has the following three sub-components: (i) Strategic research, surveys and analysis; (ii) Strengthening the education policy framework; and (iii) Measurements of school readiness and student learning. 4) The fourth component, Strengthening institutional capacity, monitoring and evaluation and education sector management, has the following sub-components: (i) Project management support; and (ii) Central Project Management Office.
