TV: Telecommunications and ICT Development Project

The development objective of Tuvalu Telecommunications and Information and communication technologies (ICT) Development project is to facilitate improved access to, and reduced cost of, internet services in Tuvalu. This project has three components. 1) The first component, Technical Assistance, aims to develop and implement ICT policy, new or amended legislation and reforms for the ICT sector, including strategies for Outer Islands and international connectivity incorporating a submarine optical fibre cable system. 2) The second component, Enhancing Connectivity Infrastructure, aims to finance the government’s financial contribution to the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) transaction to design, build and operate the international backbone and domestic access networks to connect users on Funafuti to the global internet. 3) The third component, Project Management, aims to finance project administration, fiduciary support, project audit and communications and will complement the technical management support to be provided under Component 1.
