NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Regional Procurement Office East (RPOE), Network Contracting Office 4 (NCO 4) intends to award a sole source contract pursuant to RFO FAR 6.103-1 to Community Blood Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania & Western New York located at 2646 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16508. Simplified acquisition procedures will be used, and the resulting contract will be firm priced for a five-year period.

The Erie VA Medical Center requires a contractor to provide Blood/Blood Components necessary for transfusion services, in addition to specialized reference laboratory support specific for immunohematology services. This service shall be provided for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Erie VA Medical Center, located in Eri, PA 16504. Based on geographical location, the Community Blood Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania & Western New York is the only source that can meet the VA facility s requirement for delivery of orders within one hour of notification.
