The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Geology, Energy, and Minerals Science Center, plans to award a non-competitive purchase order to American Energy Technologies, Co. (AETC), for processing and purifying a Michigamme Graphite-bearing rock sample, summarized in a final report. The anticipated contract will be firm fixed-price with a six-month base period of performance and one option year.A sole source procurement is justified because: 1) Their method of processing without acid is considered proprietary and is not practiced on an industry scale and 2) AETC has run this process through thermal purification for one sample and use of AETC is required to maintain data consistency over the course of the project. In accordance with Revolutionary FAR Overhaul (RFO) 5.101(c)(4)(vi), all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by the agency; however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with Revolutionary FAR Overhaul (RFO) 12.201-1.The North American Classification System (NAICS) code is 541690. The size standard is $19 million. Email responses to sruggles@usgs.gov.A vendor must be registered at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/ to be awarded the contract.
