Youth Homelessness NOFO for FY2024 and FY2025

<p><strong>1. NOFO Highlights</strong></p><p>This NOFO will provide two separate sources of funding under two different programs-</p><ul><li>YHSI grants (CFDA number 14.277)</li><li>YHDP (CFDA number 14.276)</li></ul><p>Both sets of funds were appropriated by Congress “to demonstrate how a comprehensive approach to serving homeless youth, age 24 and under ... can dramatically reduce youth homelessness.” This includes a variety of approaches, eligible activities, and projects that address not only housing needs, but also needs for services related to chronic physical health or mental health conditions, substance use disorders, domestic violence or childhood abuse and&nbsp; barriers to employment.</p><p>Under the YHSI grants, HUD will make awards to selected communities to support them in establishing and implementing a response system for youth homelessness or for improving their existing response system. HUD will select approximately 50 communities for YHSI grants.</p><p>Under the YHDP, HUD will provide funding to communities to implement housing and services projects “to demonstrate how a comprehensive approach to serving homeless youth, age 24 and under ... can dramatically reduce youth homelessness.” HUD anticipates selecting between 26 and 50 communities, with a priority for communities with substantial rural populations in up to sixteen locations.</p><p>Separate from this NOFO, technical assistance will be available to assist selected communities implement and improve their YHSI and YHDP projects. HUD expects communities to fully participate in any evaluation activities conducted by HUD beginning no earlier than the award announcement.</p>
