AMENDMENT No. 1 REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTING SERVICES – INDIVIDUAL SELECTION) [KENYA] Project Name : Accelerating Innovation and Catalyzing Capacity for Resilience in Africa (AICCRA-FSRP IV) ( P515128) Grant No .: E6520-3A Assignment Title: Environmental and Social Specialist Reference No: KE-ICIPE-563205-CS-INDV 1. The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology ( icipe ) has received financing from the World Bank towards the Accelerating Innovation and Catalyzing Capacity for Resilience in Africa (AICCRA-FSRP IV) Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services. 2. The consulting services (“the Services”) include the Environmental and Social Specialist assignment. This Consultant shall work for an initial period of Twenty-four (24) calendar months from contract commencement date, but the period is subject to extension based on AICCRA-FSRP IV Project needs, funds availability, and satisfactory performance. The objective of the assignment is for the Environmental and Social Specialist to provide environmental and social safeguards support to the AICCRA-FSRP IV Project. This is intended to strengthen the Project Implementation Unit's capacity to ensure effective environmental and social due diligence, compliance with the World Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) and applicable national environmental and social regulations, thereby supporting the successful implementation of project activities in accordance with project objectives and donor requirements. 3.
