The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the “Somalia Food Systems Resilience Project (S- FSRP)” and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contracts for “Rehabilitation of Irrigation Canals in Afgoye District (6 Lots) – SWS of Somalia: Lot 1: Abshir Lot 2: Mukhtaar Lot 3: Hussein Lot 4: Ali Daahir Lot 5: NUUX and Lot 6: Abdi-Yare.  For these contracts, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the World Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines for Investment Project Financing, except for those payments the contract provides to be made through a letter of credit. 2. The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, Southwest State of Somalia now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the “ Rehabilitation of Irrigation Canals (6 Lots) – SWS of Somalia which are located in Afgooye District”. The proposed rehabilitation works of each irrigation canals are expected to restore the functionality of each lot’s irrigation canals by addressing siltation, embankment instability, and damaged hydraulic structures, thereby improving water conveyance efficiency, strengthening irrigation reliability, and expanding irrigation service coverage.
