France – Concrete repair work – Port de Granville - Bassin de plaisance de Hérel - Travaux de réparation de la digue principale et du mur-seuil

As part of its maritime port maintenance policy, the Manche Department conducted a diagnostic assessment in 2022 of the sill wall and the two breakwaters (main and secondary) of the Granville marina basin. This assessment revealed numerous structural problems: spalling or cracking of the concrete and corrosion of the steel. The Manche Department therefore wishes to carry out repairs to the sill wall and the main breakwater. The work will primarily include a general cleaning of the structures, crack repair or injection, fracture treatment, and the application of a waterproof coating. The work is estimated to take nine months. The unique geometry of the main breakwater, composed of 52 JARLAN caissons, each 14 meters high and extending over 360 meters, will likely require the use of specialized equipment to meet the constraints of this project. The contract award is expected at the end of March 2025, with the preparation period beginning in May and the works starting in September 2025. The estimated value of the project is €7.8 million (including VAT). Estimated duration of the works (excluding the preparation period): 9 months.
