The existing district heating network is a technical network serving three subscribers: the Saint-Paul-lès-Dax swimming pool, the greenhouses, and the municipal stadium. The network's current heating needs are between 600 and 700 MWh, and the planned development project is for approximately 2.8 GWh. The geothermal well, located at a place called "Le Poulit," is 1,697 meters deep and draws from the Paleocene Danube aquifer. Drilled in 1993, the well underwent relining work in 2022. The operating permit was renewed in 2016, expiring in 2023. A renewal application was submitted in 2023, with a projected operating life of 15 years for the well. Based on the specifications of the tender documents, the Concessionaire will be responsible for financing and carrying out the works enabling the development of the existing heating network, particularly towards the new UXCOM district, the OAP du Lac area, the Korian clinic, and a new commercial real estate complex. It will also be responsible for the maintenance of the facilities and the commercial management of the network.
