The upcoming contract concerns the design, creation, transport, and installation of an artwork, as part of the 1% for art program for the construction of the extension to the National Archives site in Pierrefitte-sur-Seine (93). The artistic project may encompass all fields of visual arts and must be permanently integrated into the site. The artwork's location is not predetermined, but it must be visible to local residents, the public, and staff of the National Archives site. Possible locations for the artwork include: the roof terraces of the 11th and 21st floors, particularly on or in place of the corrugated and perforated metal structure currently located on the 21st floor; the metal facade (both the smooth gable end near the freight elevators and the corrugated and perforated metal facades); and the public entrance to the site. The artwork must respect the monolithic and abstract nature of the project. Its symbolism must be linked to the content and function of the archives, both in a societal sense (history, memory) and in a physical sense (paper documents, archiving of files and boxes, digital archiving, etc.). The artwork must be integrated into the approach that respects the environmental ambitions of the construction project (environmental efficiency, reuse, minimal technical maintenance, energy efficiency, etc.). The project owner reserves the right to subsequently award the successful bidder one or more contracts for the performance of similar services as defined in Article R.2122-7 of the French Public Procurement Code.
