Opportunity Overview

The 15 turbocompressors of the Nitrification Unit have been in place since 2005. The main function of the turbocompressors in Service 2 NIT is to produce air to allow the biomass naturally present in wastewater to assimilate nitrogen in its reduced form (NH4) and transform it into oxidized forms (NO2) (nitrification) and NO3 (nitration). Replacing the turbocompressors will ensure the proper functioning of the biofiltration unit, which requires air for the nitrification process, with a new technology that meets the latest environmental standards (optimized maintenance costs and energy consumption, with a potential saving of approximately 20% compared to the current machines, and extended spare parts availability).
