The Government of South Sudan (GOSS) has received financing from the World Bank to participate in the first series of projects for the Eastern Africa Regional Digital Integration Project (EARDIP-SOP-1). The project development objective is to increase access to broadband and digital services through the development and integration of digital markets in the Eastern Africa Region. 2. Government of South Sudan (GOSS) intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Fiber Optic Network Backbone. For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the World Bank’s “Disbursement Guidelines for Investment Project Financing” . 3. The Ministry of Information Communication Technology and Postal Services (MICT&PS) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for matching investments from EARDIP for the design, supply and owner operation of the approximately 397 km backbone terrestrial fibre optic cable (FOC) along the Juba–Nadapal road corridor (to the border with Kenya), with a minimum 17 Points of Presence (POPs) and aggregation points along the route that are designed to support the interconnection of commercial traffic from several major cities and communities served by Mobile network operators (MNOs) and to facilitate last-mile connectivity by MNOs and Internet...
