Mail and courier work is priced by the shape of the traffic rather than by a single rate. Contracts define delivery standards as a percentage achieved within a stated number of working days, measured independently where possible, with tracking and signature capture for items that need it and a defined process and compensation limit for loss. Secure and legal documents, items containing personal data, and anything with a statutory deadline attract stricter handling, and the liability cap for a lost item is almost always far below its consequential value, which is why the buyer's own controls remain part of the arrangement.
